Volunteer
Opportunities
Mother to Mother©
is run mostly by volunteers. The primary volunteer activity is the
telephone support. Other opportunities for fundraising and community
outreach are also available.
Telephone
volunteer opportunities:
Telephone
support volunteers receive a 15-hour training prior to being
assigned a mom. The training is conducted by Dr. Darcell (Darcy)
Scharff
and includes topics such as: 1) helping moms deal with their
current beliefs about their pregnancy, their baby, being a mother,
returning
to work, etc.; 2) helping moms get what they want through communication
and assertiveness skills; and 3) dealing with emotions. Women who
have participated in the training have found it to be insightful
and fun, as well as an opportunity to create another support
system. Trainings are free and held once a year in the fall. Contact
Darcy
at 314-977-4009 or Linda Meyer at 314-644-7001 or use
our online contact form.

with the annual trivia night and silent auction. Help
is needed with soliciting goods & services, working the event,
and set-up and tear down.
- Assist with
other events such as gift-wrapping at Borders.
Community
Outreach and Education volunteer opportunities:
- Distribute
brochures to physician office, hospitals and other organizations.
- Conduct
presentations about Mother to Mother at local organizations.
