We welcome you to view survivors of a perinatal or postpartum adjustment disorder. These are just some of the faces of women/families that have experienced many emotions during a difficult and dark time. Like you, they thought giving birth and motherhood was going to be the best time of their lives; after all, many people assured them it would be a wonderful experience.
For the women on this page, it was not so wonderful or anything like they imagined. These women may have experienced guilt, endless anxiety and/or depression. Some of them felt hopeless or that they were a bad mom. Others were scared to be alone with or to take care of their babies;they may have suffered with intrusive or suicidal thoughts. They may have had some or all of these feelings. Most likely they were overwhelmed, couldn't stop crying; they may have been angry and wondered "why me?"or "why did I ever have a baby?" What they all have in common is that they RECOVERED and they ENJOY MOTHERHOOD. Remember that this is not you, but what the effects of a perinatal or postpartum adjustment disorder are having on you for a temporary time. You can recover, too.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE! We understand. We will give you support, education, and resources. Call us.
